| Volkswagen Cross Up |
Volkswagen had firstly introduced the Cross Up - the 5 door version of the diminutive VW Up! - as a concept car at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, but now it seems that the model shaping up to enter production as we spotted this prototype totally stripped of any camouflage. And it even has the Cross Up stickers on the rear doors, just to make sure everyone got that right.
As we can see from this set of spy shots in spite of the snow, the model - at least from an aesthetic viewpoint - stays close to the concept we had seen in Germany, with the door strips on the sides as the only visible change.
As you might know, Volkswagen has a whole range of Cross models, which are jacked up versions of its ‘regular’ cars (think of the CrossPolo, CrossGolf, CrossTouran and so on), and in this case, in the comparison with the ’standard’ version’, the Cross Up has different bumpers, wider fenders, underbody protection and alloy wheels in Cross design. Expect to see the Cross Up at your local Volkswagen dealer during the first half of 2013.
